How to Join

Are you looking to take your running career to the next level? Are you dedicated to being your best and ready to compete with a group of highly motivated athletes who share your passion?

If so, we would love to have you as part of the Kansas City Smoke!

Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible, you must have run at least one team-qualifying Open or Masters standard within the last 12 months.

Team Member Expectations: All team members are expected to wear their Smoke jerseys when racing. If racing at USATF events, you are expected to place your USATF membership under Kansas City Smoke.

Benefits: The primary benefit of being a part of smoke is camaraderie. We have a decent contingent at most local and Regional races, and a fun and supportive team. Elite Standard athletes will also get the privilege of a $400 stipend to help with travel when traveling to races outside of the KC Metro area. Elite and Standard A athletes will get free entries to many local races. Standard B athletes will get discounted race entries to most local races.

How to Apply: To apply for membership please send us a brief bio that includes your running history, personal bests, current running goals and emphasis, and date/time/location of at least one performance in the last 12 months that meets our club-qualifying standards.
